 Meet Your Athletic Trainers!

Hi, I'm Natalie!

I've been at Baldwin as a certified athletic trainer since the Spring of 2017. I graduated from IUP with a Bachelor of Science in athletic training in 2015. My favorite thing about working at Baldwin are the relationships I have gotten to build here. There's nothing better than seeing an athlete through their entire athletic career, after helping them overcome injuries and doubts, achieving great things both on and off the field. My second favorite thing is when people give us free food! If you'd like to reach out please feel free!

Hi, I'm Caitlin!

I have been with Baldwin since the fall of 2019. I graduated from Duquesne University with my Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training in 2018. I love mountain biking, swimming and my little weiner dog named Sammy. My favorite thing about Baldwin is that it feels like a second home. I look forward to every day working with student-athletes. If you need to reach me here is my contact information!

 What We Do

  • Oversee the prevention and care of sports injuries
  • Oversee the Healthy Roster platform for Baldwin Athletics and review physical paperwork to ensure everyone participating is doing so with proper documentation
  • Facilitate baseline testing for pre-concussion data collection
  • We evaluate, refer, and help to rehabilitate injuries under the guidance of our team of AHN orthopedic physicians and physical therapists. We also work in conjunction with AHN sports performance to assist in recovery sessions that our teams sign up for
  • We cover games and practices or are at least near-by if multiple events are going on at once in the event of an acute injury that requires our attention.

We hope you never HAVE to come see us but we hope to make it a good experience if you do.

In order to be treated by us you must have an AHN Consent to Treat form signed which is to be completed digitally in your Healthy Roster account in the documents section (see attached file below for more information).

 What We Are NOT

As much as we are involved with each team, we are NOT coaches, strength trainers, or a holding station for athletes who want to skip practice!

  • If you have questions specific to the team please contact your team's head coach
  • If you have questions specific to strength and conditioning, please reach out to Jeremy McCullough at jmccullough@bwschools.net

Enter from the 50 yard line doors on the field, walk straight down the hallway and veer left at the end.

High School ATR

From the central lot: Enter the gymnasium (left-most) entrance, veer left outside the main gym, walk down the hall with the big glass windows that overlook the stadium, go up the stairwell at the end of the hall, turn right at the top of the stairs and we are the first door on the right!

Where to find us (if we aren't covering a game!)

Summer schedule is reduced and variable in the summer - if you need to schedule injury rehabilitation or baseline testing with us, please reach out and we will work out a schedule with you!

Athletic Training Room Rules:

  1. No paperwork, no treatment
  2. Always sign in before requesting/receiving treatment
  3. Treatments begin AFTER the dismissal bell - if you need to schedule treatment before the dismissal bell we MUST have email communication from your teacher confirming that you're allowed to leave class early for treatment
  4. Respect the athletic trainers and your peers
  5. If receiving treatment AFTER practice, make sure you are showered/clean
  6. No food in the ATR (we want to keep our medical facility bug and mouse-free)
  7. No loitering or lingering - if you're getting treatment get in and get out
  8. No using the ATR as an excuse to skip practice - tell your coaches if you are coming to see us

* If the ATR is busy please note that we will prioritize by severity of injury and urgency (eg: if someone is leaving for an away game and needs to get taped before the bus leaves) - if you just want ice you are welcome to sign in and make a bag for yourself!

 What Is Healthy Roster?

Healthy Roster is a free mobile app/web-based program that is required by the Baldwin-Whitehall school district for athletic participation in school-sanctioned sports (this excludes club sports).

It connects parents and coaches with their athletic trainers to provide HIPPA compliant communication around medical documents and injury care for student-athletes.

HIPAA compliant = your child’s information is secure and available only to individuals you choose.

What Can I Do With Healthy Roster?

  • Complete and sign your PIAA CIPPE physical packet digitally in the documents tab
  • View injury status of your child(ren) or add your own injury update that the ATCs/coaches may not know about yet
  • Upload medical paperwork such as doctors notes/clearances related to a sports injury
  • Message your athletic trainers directly

 How To Create An Account

  1. If you do not have an account yet, you will need to complete the Healthy Roster Registration Form
  2. Once the ATCs upload your form response into Healthy Roster, the parent will receive an email with a personalized access code to create your account. The turnaround for this is not immediate since we are entering them manually. For example, if you complete it on a Friday, we may not upload your response until Monday. If you enter it in the summer, it may take a bit longer.
